About Ocala Florida...

It's History

There is no history more fascinating than what the City of Ocala tells. Perched in the gracious East Fort King Street, the Rheinauer House sits among many incredible structures that represent significant historical markers during the industrial late ninetieth and twentieth centuries. East Fort King Street is listed in the Registry of National Historical Sites, offering an incredible array of intrigue and exploration.

Horse Capitol of the World

There are only four places on earth that are designated "Horse Capiral of the World." Ocala-Marion County is one, while the other three titles belong to Lexington, Kentucky; Newmarket, England and Chantilly, France.

For our humble city, it all started in early 1999, when the U.S. Department of Agirculture put its seal of approval, declaring Ocala to be the "Horse Capital of the World".
